Overview Risk Factors Symptoms Treatment Options

An estimated 4 million Americans have high blood pressure, also called hypertension, though only about 78% of them are aware that they have it.

High blood pressure usually has no symptoms for most people. That's why many people with high blood pressure go for years without knowing they have it. But you can better manage high blood pressure if you stay in the know about it.

Even if you "feel fine," keep your goal in mind of a
blood pressure of <140/90 mmHg.

The only way to know you have high blood pressure is to have it checked.
